Breakthrough?

My mini-hiatus is not due to any huge tragedy, for those who have been hinting. Quite the opposite, in fact!

The past 7 days may have served as a breakthrough for me!

(Here is the timeline/equation leading up to this)

1. First of all, after dousing myself in some terrific literature (Everyday Calm, A New Earth, The Shift, etc. during the past month, I have been drawing (and/or "attracting", if you will) peaceful happenings: one choice which caused me to ditch the ant farm-like HEB stress mill and opt for a local health food store Natural Grocers.

2. Educating myself about what "organic" really means, I watched a few documentaries (Food Matters, Food, Inc.) & changed my LIFE!

3. Last week, in addition to my peace/meditation/etc. I went to a food seminar about maintaining blood sugar & met with a nutritionist who told me to cut out all carbs (or as little as possible) and focus on healthy fats, protein, and veggies.

4. This week, I've been so much more balanced, mentally strong, and chill. I have no cravings. I think I might have been transformed. Really. And guess what? It's actually easy to dump sugar. I never thought it would be a reality for a sweet tooth (fang).

5. I did this new "diet" to be respectful of food & food sources ...and to not get ravaging starving multiple times per day. I have not lost any weight, and supposedly it's supposed to "fall off" (whatever), but the total irrelevancy of cravings is totally worth it. Onward!

Typical Breakfast (as recommended):
2 scrambled cage-free eggs
3-5 torn up spinach leaves
spoonful of organic neufchatel cheese

nutrient-dense, proteins, no carb...oh, and full, too

Oh, and I too H zip lining for his birthday 1 week early:

"what a glorious day for a zip!"

Are you on any particular diet & do you think it's "working"?

Dishing, etc.

Finally an update! So here is the big 3 that's been changing in my life:
1. Leaving my school, finding a new one. I'm getting certified in art & elementary (general). I think these are good moves! I am embracing the future!
2. I have been changing my diet to be as full as whole foods and as low on grains & carbohydrates as possible. Seemingly insignificant, this has a huge impact on my well-being & outlook on my circumstances (more on that later...)
3. I am putting stress-management on the table as a priority (see #1). I need to seek peace and be better to myself.

I have done some soul-seeking & I really do think I am meant to be a teacher. I just need to find a happy place between all parts of me, know that I've finally familiarized them to myself at age 26! Oh yay!

Like you couldn't have guessed...

So after yesterday's post, you probably knew I was going to be paying attention to my diet.

Well, I am.

I set a goal to lose 12 lbs. by March 23rd. Yeah, that's a pound a week. Haha.

Anyway, I went on this diet thing on webmd.com, and it basically just told me that I need to cut out 367 food calories, and just burn 117 extra calories by working out.

Doesn't that sound sane?

Anyway, I will be putting updates in the bottom of my blogs in bold, to keep some accountability.

Goodnight!

Are you my "type"?

I sneakily admire many of my co-workers. They possess interesting hobbies, experiences, and cute little quirks!

They probably have no idea that I notice the things that I do, but I am fascinated by the study of people (anthropology, no? Hehe).

One of the women I work with is incredibly beautiful, but she doesn't really know it (or at least it doesn't seem that way). She is calm, hard-working, and never speaks negatively about ANYTHING. She is also insanely fit, and has the cutest bod ever!

I noted the other day that she had mention this "Eat right for your type" diet, to which she had attributed her physique of dreams.

I have been meaning to look it up, and I finally did.

The type refers not to your body type (apple, pear, esoteric, whatever), but to your blood type.

Anyway, I'm sorta intrigued. However, I saw that my blood type--B--does not respond well to corn, wheat or chicken. These just happen to be 3 of my core foods...

Besides dairy. I can go wild on dairy, which I already do.

Has anyone heard whether there is any legitimacy to this?
